Admission Guidelines for International Students

1. Eligibility:

Applicants must be : Male students

－Who have been accepted to attend a university (or college) or a graduate school in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
－Who respect our creed and rules and are willing to experience community life at Wakeijuku.

2. Facilities:

2-1) Rooms:

All rooms are single occupancy with wooden flooring and are equipped with an air conditioner, curtains, bed frame, desk, chair, bookshelf, storage rack, TV jack, and internet connection.
Room size: 11.25 m²

2-2) Common facilities:

Cafeteria, kitchen, lounge, large communal bath, toilets, coin-operated laundry (washer and dryer), etc.

3. Fees (as of Oct. 2022):

Notes:

3-1) The fee includes tax, meals (breakfast and supper), utilities, and internet charges.
It is reviewed annually and may be subject to change depending on the consumption tax rate.

3-2) Deposit B is not required if you have a guarantor who resides in Japan and passes our credit check.
Deposit A is required in all cases.
In other words, a total deposit of ¥200,000 is required if you do not have an acceptable guarantor.
The deposit will be refunded without interest upon leaving, provided that no damage has been caused to the room or other Wakeijuku facilities.

3-3) The dormitory fee will be prorated for the first and last months.

3-4) Each dormitory’s student committee may collect a small amount of dues for their activities, which may vary depending on the dormitory.

4. Payment:

The first month’s fee and the deposit must be paid in cash in Japanese yen on your arrival day or on the next business day at the Wakeijuku Head Office.
Please follow the instructions of the Head Office regarding subsequent payments.

Please fill out all sections of the Wakeijuku application form completely and send it by email, together with one photo, to the following address:

The screening result will be sent to you by email shortly.

6. Check-in:

Check-in hours: 9:00 – 15:00 (except 12:00 – 13:00)

An orientation will be held on your arrival day or the following day.
